Additional Information

Insurance

Your itemized statement will have the complete codes needed for insurance reimbursement of your medical weight loss treatment. Please contact your insurance company for their payment policy for weight loss services. Unfortunately, at this time most insurance companies do not pay for weight loss services up front. This means full payment will need to be made at the time of service.

However, if you have a health savings credit card with the Visa/Mastercard logo, then you may be able to use it for payment and we will provide you with the appropriate itemized statement for services.

If you have Medicaid / Medicare / MCO or FSA please call us 202-463-7872.

Tax Deduction

According to a recent IRS ruling, you may be able to deduct the cost of your medical weight loss treatment. Treatment specifically for obesity can now be claimed as a medical deduction. We will give you an itemized statement with the complete codes needed for your taxes. Please talk with your tax advisor.

Medications

The careful selection of a weight loss eating plan is what causes a person to lose weight. The purpose of the medication is to help a person stay on a weight loss eating plan without problems or side effects. Therefore, the physicians at Beale Medical Weight Loss give patients appetite suppressants (diet pills) and other medications to help them stay on the diet or to correct other medical conditions which may coexist such as diabetes and hypertension. The patient can be certain that whatever medical condition they have in addition to being overweight, the physicians at Beale Medical Weight Loss know which medications are safe and effective for them.

All patients on Beale Medical Weight Loss programs get medication of some type. The specific names and doses of medications are explained to each patient before they are given to that patient. A general discussion of the names and types of medications is beyond the scope of this web site.

Remember that Dr. Beale was the only weight loss physician or clinic in the area who NEVER gave anyone Phen-Fen, Redux, Pondimin, fenfluramine, dexfenfluramine, Meridia, or Xenadrine. Dr. Beale did his own review of the evidence and found out that these drugs were dangerous alone and even more dangerous in combination with other drugs. Despite the fact that most other physicians, most other clinics, and all the talk shows were pushing Phen-Fen and Meridia, Dr. Beale spoke the truth, refused to bow to the interest of making more money, and did not give these dangerous drugs or combinations to his patients. Patients who came to Dr. Beale for weight loss and listened to him are very grateful today that they do not have to worry about heart disease or lung disease from Phen-Fen, Meridia and those other drugs.

At this time there are other drugs and especially herbal products which are just as dangerous as Phen-Fen, but since they are being sold by multi-level marketing programs, they have escaped the attention of the regulatory bodies. The physicians at Beale Medical Weight Loss do not use any herbs for weight reduction because they are either dangerous or do not work or both. If you are on any herbal productions for weight reduction, you should stop them immediately. If you are on herbal preparations for such things as depression, memory loss, hair growth, nail growth, immune system strengthening, prevention of colds, etc, you may be kept on those by the physicians at Beale Medical Weight Loss.

Vitamin B12 is an important part of the weight loss program because of its roll in fatty acid synthesis and energy production. It also helps metabolize fats and carbs, helps release energy from nutrients and has also been known to minimize water weight. This offers excellent benefits to your health and a real boost to your mood and energy.

The primary function of lipotropics in the body is to help stimulate the breakdown of lipid fat during metabolism and, in this way, reduce the accumulation of excess fat in the liver and gallbladder. Lipotropics are also beneficial in helping to reduce your appetite and speed up the metabolism of fat and its removal.

Lipotropic therapies contain a synergistic combination of B vitamins, amino acids and other nutrients, including:

  • Methionine – reduces fats and aids in lowering cholesterol.
  • Choline – an amino acid known to help reduce fat in the liver.
  • Inositol – metabolizes and transfers fats in the blood stream.

These injections aid your weight loss by giving you an extra boost. When people feel down, fatigued, or lack energy all of the time, many turn to food as a solution. Over time, this can lead to weight gain and present great challenges when trying to lose weight. But, when you feel good and have plenty of energy, there is no need to rely on comfort food, junk foods, or fast foods to overcome those challenges. Fewer challenges can mean faster and better results. This can be effective in enhancing an additional 1 pound per week in your weight loss program.
